About this course
Overview
Renewable plants are dispatched, curtailed and answerable to a grid operator in a way conventional plant is not. You cover the control architecture behind that: what the SCADA system monitors, how setpoints arrive from the network operator, and what running the control room looks like across a resource that will not sit still.
What you will be able to do
Learning outcomes
- Describe renewable-plant SCADA architecture
- Integrate generation and storage assets into control
- Operate a plant controller against grid codes
- Monitor plant performance and alarms
- Apply security controls to the SCADA network
What the course sets out to do
Course objectives
- Understand SCADA architecture for renewable plants
- Integrate inverters, turbines, and storage into SCADA
- Implement plant controllers for grid compliance
- Manage alarms, data, and operational monitoring
- Apply cybersecurity practice to plant control
Who it is for
Target audience
Control room operators, SCADA engineers, and plant engineers at renewable and hybrid facilities.
Before you start
Prerequisites
Engineering or plant operations background. Some exposure to control systems helps.
